RV Entry Camping Hacks We Love

We are on vacation celebrating birthdays (Sonya’s on the 3rd & Luther’s on the 6th) and the 4th of July holiday this week, but didn’t want to miss out on sharing with you–so we thought we’d gift you with an idea from something we love!
One of our favorite things about RV life is the ability to set up home anywhere. Sometimes that means in a park with a paved or gravel pad, but other times that may be a friend or family member’s yard or a spot with lots of dirt and mud.
While we don’t mind the dirt, we also don’t want it all over the RV. We’ve found a couple of tricks to keep that dirt from tracking or dumping everywhere, and to keep the stairs from sinking while we are at it!
FOR THE STAIRS After our first experience putting our stairs in dirt, then dumping it in our entry way when we closed them up, I knew I needed a solution and found STABILIZING JACK PADS. These easily sit under the feet of our stairs, keeping them from sinking in the dirt. They can easily tuck just inside the door or in the garage.

FOR THE RUG I know, the rug’s job is to catch dirt, so it’s going to get dirty. But when it rains, it fills with water, or worse, gets buried under the water in some places without good drainage. And if we are on grass at a family member’s home or a park that our stairs fall on grass, we need a solution that doesn’t kill the grass below it. RV LEVELING BLOCKS have proven to be a great solution, especially if we didn’t need them to level the rig. Since we travel with 2 sets, I can usually have a set dedicated to the rug, if needed. We’ve sat places for a week or two and other than grown grass around them, it left little to no mark in the grass.
