Barnes On Move: Our Story
Why did we sell our home and move into an RV? Here is our story.
Why did we sell our home and move into an RV? Here is our story.
We grew up in Florida, and roadside attractions were a standard part of 80’s kid childhood. But, somehow, we never made it to Solomon’s Castle…until this year!
Find out more about this great attraction in Central Florida…at least, as much as we can share since it is a “no photos allowed” location!
We love animals, but with limited space, there are only so many we can house, so we try to support rescues and refuges in our travels.
Hardee County has a great little refuge worth a visit! If you are looking to make a day of it, or find treats, we’ve got some suggestions for that, too!
Even though we’ve traveled throughout our lives, what we have learned after four years about travel, and about ourselves, is worth sharing.
Whether you travel a little or a lot, we hope there something for you to glean from our experience. Maybe it is something you already knew?
We love visiting Vero Beach, and got to visit some of our favorite spots again this year.
We also got the added bonus of hanging out with our friends @HappilyWhereverAfter and helping to get some projects done on their boat–they are sailing the Great Loop this year!
We are always looking for a great campground that perfectly blends nature with amenities, and our big ole’ 5th wheel can fit in.
The Hideaway Campground in Old Town, Florida is just that!
Here’s an intro and review of this campground, and what we love about it!
We enjoyed a beautiful winter afternoon at a new to us state park, and got to share geocaching with some friends!
Join us for an intro to Manatee Springs State Park in Florida and the trail that started our friends in a new hobby!
Clutter builds fast in any lifestyle, but we see it fast in RV life. Walk through some of the questions we’ve learned to ask ourselves as we try to keep our home peaceful and our rig towable! (And if you aren’t an RVer, these can still help you!)
One of our goals this year is to focus more on community–people to see, rather than places.
We kicked off January with that focus by attending a meet up the same week as the RV show.
What we lack in photos, we more than make up for in memories!
One of several reasons we started our full-time travel life was to find a place that Sonya’s allergies and asthma weren’t so bad.
While we haven’t found that perfect location yet, we have found a simple solution for immune boosting as we travel, and wanted to share that with you!
We planned this trip with friends a year out–unheard of for us!
This is why we rushed across the country, though, and it was worth it.
A week of island life, surrounded by friends and nature was just what we needed.
We’ve got park and campground details, as well as how we spent our week.
