Alpine Lake RV Resort | A Thousand Trails Encore Park in New York

While working our way north in the spring, we spent 4 nights at the Alpine Lake RV Resort in Corinth, New York.

This campground is a short drive north of Saratoga Springs (check out the May 25th blog about Tasting the different spring waters here). It is a Thousand Trails park nestled among the pine trees and one of our favorite thousand trails parks we’ve found on the east coast, so far.

While there are many seasonal campers here and the weekends get pretty busy with activities and socializing, but everyone was friendly and it was still very peaceful at night. We arrived shortly after they opened for the season and found everyone gathering for a get to know you cornhole tournament. We were welcome right in by the locals, inviting us to come back and join them again throughout the summer.

The sites were a decent size in the section we were in for larger rigs and we had full hookups. It is an older campground, so the sites were made before larger rigs with slides became popular, but we were able to get level on our site, with some leveling blocks and using part of the paved patio area. They do also have seasonal and annual sites available, as well as cabins!

You’ll find what you need at this campground, between the pool, fishing lakes, laundry room, pickleball and basketball courts, as well as both a well stocked camp store and a cafe open on the weekends. the activities building was closed the week days we were there, but we were told they will have games and activities on weekends all summer. It also has the dumpsters and a dump station on an easy to access loop around the pavilion area.

While our Verizon cell phones worked great, with the tree cover, Starlink wasn’t an option, so we just planned our visit so we could enjoy some unplugged time and didn’t even worry about trying to connect with it.

The bugs were a bit of a nuisance, but we used our screen tent, and an alcohol-peppermint combo worked well at keeping them from the doors. The ticks were pretty bad in the spring, so we were checking Luna daily and removing them, so if you bring your pups, keep an eye on them!

With the tree cover, be mindful that large rigs may need to go slow in some areas–it’s never a bad thing to Get Out And Look, or even use a “wing-walker” like we do (that’s an Air Force term from when we had large aircraft we walked past close proximity areas).

If you are passing through Eastern New York, or planning a visit to the Saratoga Springs area, definitely add this campground to your list! It’s available for members and non-members to camp!
