Birding and Boat Life on the Treasure Coast
We love Visiting Vero Beach, especially with Encore Sunshine Travel Thousand Trails resort in our membership to stay at for up to two weeks! This was one of the first Encore’s we visited and we try to get back here every year since it’s a nice campground and there are lots of things to do in the area like the beach, hiking trails, stores and a great nature center. (Find out more about a Thousand Trails membership that would work for you here)

This year, one of our top reasons to go was to help our friends, Happily Wherever After, with their boat for their next big adventure (they hike and RV, too, so check them out on all the socials, or their website, linked above). They have been working on it for over a year down in Fort Pierce and are trying to get their Great Loop trip started, so we went to lend a hand and some moral support. (Don’t know what the Great Loop is? Read about this EPIC boat trip here!)

While we aren’t boat people, we loved getting to learn new things, see their vision, check a few things off of their to do list, and get to spend quality time talking and laughing–lots of laughing!

When we weren’t helping them out, we enjoyed time hiking at Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge, exploring the Environmental Learning Center, and walking the beach since it was just a bit too cold to swim in February. I was sad to see that Laporte Farms had closed down last year since that was always one of our favorite places to visit.
Having that couple of weeks to slow down, spend time with friends, and enjoy life was amazing. Getting to be in nature when Florida weather is enjoyable was such a treat, and a much needed break after a busy travel and holiday season and the RV show in January. It also gave us a chance to gather ideas and plan for the upcoming year.

Soon, we will be kicking off the next travel season and, at the time of writing this blog, we have a few big ideas that are, of course, in opposite directions! We hope to cross paths with our friends somewhere during their Great Loop adventure, but if not, there will be time spent together after hearing all the stories that may, or may not, have made the cut on their channel.
Be sure to check them out for inspo and ideas from their adventures all over!
