Twin Lakes Campground – Thousand Trails

While working our way south for winter, we stayed at Twin Lakes Campground in Chocowinity, NC, a town in Eastern Carolina. This campground is open year round and will leave you feeling surrounded by nature.
There are an abundance of trees, but not so many that it is a concern for your RV. There is a lake in the middle of the park, as well as several pond areas. We took our paddleboards out and around the lake, and enjoyed the trails around the waterways, as well as the many water foul that visit.

The RV sites are spacious with hookups, and easy enough to navigate into, even with our 39 foot 5th wheel.
This park has a pool, although it was closed for winter while we were there, as well as a game room and camp store. It is a family friendly park, and space for walking, biking and playing, and many activities, including a playground. There is a nice size dog park, as well. They have events going on, even in the slower seasons. Sadly, we just missed the Halloween festivities when we visited.

The area has access to stores and restaurants, and isn’t too far from the coast, if you wanted to explore, as well.
The staff, fellow campers, and long term residence were friendly and we chatted with many of them. We enjoyed a peaceful week here and would put this on our list to visit again.
