Continuing our journey westward, this week we traveled from Omaha, Nebraska to Arco, Idaho, mostly along I-80 (the route of the Oregon Trail).
On long travel days and 1,200 miles of travel, we found free camping on cool nights, historical local stops, and took a turn north to stop for some R&R.
We were excited to spend a day experiencing Amish Country in Pennsylvania, but even more excited when the farm we visited turned out to be pet friendly and Luna was able to explore, as well!
There is so much to see and do in the Black Hills area of South Dakota, so choosing a central location to start from, or to base out of for day trips is suggested. We found a great spot at Sturgis Downtown RV Park that worked for us while we explored!
There are a lot of choices for camping when you visit Glacier National Park in Montana, but we really enjoyed our stay at Johnson’s of St. Mary in East Glacier, just outside of the park entrance.
While traveling through Indiana, we needed a few days to get caught up on work and life stuff, and this spot was a quiet and restful spot to do just that!
