Driving towards the area known well by Navy SEALS, I’m reminded of their quote “the only easy day was yesterday” and realize it is so true in RV life, too!
We learned a lot from these hiccups, finally get some things caught up, and planning for the next step in the journey.
Traveling from Sequoia to Palm Springs should have been an easy trip since it was mostly interstate.
Of course it wasn’t though! Join us for the crazy journey, including driving through Los Angeles, and arriving to our campground and we couldn’t get in! All in an effort to get a day at Joshua Tree NP.
The next leg of our journey through California was a lot less stressful–and that was fine with us!
We headed from Yosemite to Sequoia and had to make some trade offs, but were also rewarded for them!
After planning and waiting for good weather and smaller crowds, our travels overlapped with the government shutdown.
Without knowing if we’d be able to get in or what we’d be able to do, we set out for Yosemite National Park.
What was open? How were people behaving? Well…
The time has come for us to brave the steep switchback roads up to Yosemite…with our home in tow behind us!
Not only do we have the roads to brave, but we have no idea if exploring Yosemite National Park will be in option, or if the campground will live up to the hype!
It’s finally time to start our journey south to California–we mean it this time!

When some friends reached out to tell us they’d be in southern Washington to catch up, we realized we were only 200 miles from them!
