After planning and waiting for good weather and smaller crowds, our travels overlapped with the government shutdown.
Without knowing if we’d be able to get in or what we’d be able to do, we set out for Yosemite National Park.
What was open? How were people behaving? Well…
The time has come for us to brave the steep switchback roads up to Yosemite…with our home in tow behind us!
Not only do we have the roads to brave, but we have no idea if exploring Yosemite National Park will be in option, or if the campground will live up to the hype!
Time to continue our journey south along the west coast! Today we are traveling into California, and passing Mount Shasta.

When some friends reached out to tell us they’d be in southern Washington to catch up, we realized we were only 200 miles from them!
With a quick decision to change plans, we turned back NORTH to get a weekend to catch up. Plus, we got to stop an an iconic 80’s movie location!
With cold weather settling in, it was time to start heading south.
Tillamook, OR, our first stop south has been on our list for awhile.
We found a great Harvest Hosts stop at a farm and it was just up the road from a Creamery we had our sites, and taste buds, set on!
We spent a week in Gig Harbor, catching up with friends and exploring the area.
