A Hot Summer Afternoon at Rigby’s Water World

Summer in Georgia can be extremely warm, so when a local suggested we visit Rigby’s Water World in Warner Robins, we planned a day for it!
Working around the weather was the biggest challenge since summer is filled with rain showers. Saturdays they open the earliest-at 10AM, during the week at 11AM, and Sundays at Noon and are open until 6PM those days (hours vary season to season, so be sure to check before you go!). Our schedule allowed us to go on a Sunday and when we arrived around lunch time, the weather did not look promising. We thought about hanging out at Rigby’s Entertainment Complex with all of it’s activities )skating, mini-golf, go carts and so much more), but opted for lunch at home and to return since our RV was only about 15 minutes away.

When we visited, prices were $35-$40, with discounts available for certain days, ages, and military/first responders. Lockers are available in the pool area in various sizes–we got a medium for $14 for the day that fit our beach bag, shoes, and water bottles. They do have food and beverages on premises, but you are only allowed to bring in water, so keep your snacks in the car.

They have a pool area, water slide and splash area, kiddie area, and a lazy river surrounding them. We spent a few hours on the water slides and lazy river, but it was so hot, we were ready to get out of the sun quickly, and it was pretty busy, so we were good with the time we got.
There are cabanas and tents to rent if you have a group and want to have a shaded meet up spot, but we found lots of chairs, tables and umbrellas around and didn’t have a need for it since we stayed together most of the time–unless I was floating in the lazy river while the boys played.

I will forewarn you, the lazy river isn’t “lazy” in the mom sense of the word, as I expected. It is a pretty quick current, fountain splash areas, and a wave section that had me looking for the stairs to exit. If I were going to be in the area, I would invest in the seasonal pass and come and go pretty often, but, as a central Floridian having grown up with water parks like at Disney, Universal and Wet -N-Wild and Water Mania, we were a little underwhelmed since most of the rides were about the same. It was fairly new when we went and there was still construction around, so if we pass through again, we will look to see what’s been added and contemplate a repeat visit.
The water was a great temperature and we left feeling pretty refreshed and ready for a nap after the splashing and sunshine. We did leave the cameras in the locker, so didn’t get very many photos to share.
If you plan to be in this area, add this area to your list of places to explore and see if the entertainment complex or water park are for you and your family!
