Exploring Ocala from Champion’s Run RV Resort

Whether you are drawn by a love of nature or a love of horses, you will find plenty of both in the Ocala area. Marion County, FL is home to the National Equestrian Center and many horse farms and training facilities. It’s also home to Ocala National Forest and many natural springs and hiking trails.

Silver Springs, a state park, is in this area and offers their famous glass bottom boats, as well as the option to rent or bring your own SUPs, kayak and canoes to see the wildlife and clear waters. It is a pet friendly location, which we love, and, if you have time, you can volunteer here to help with the park!
While there are lots of camping options to choose from in the area, including the state parks and national forest (I’ve got another blog on Salt Springs camping linked here or linked on the map) we stayed at Champions Run RV Resort twice while in the are–both for SeRV related events with members of our RV community.

This is a new resort that has a lot to offer. It is easy access and conveniently located to shops, restaurants and the interstate.
The sites are full hookup and big rig friendly, and include picnic tables and have enough paved area for your patio and parking. The roads are big enough to make parking and navigating easier.
You’ll find the main building centrally located for check in, the clubhouse with activities, fitness center, laundry and camp store, restrooms and showers, and can be rented for events. The pool and hot tub are located just outside.

You’ll also find a tiki bar open in the evenings, firepits to gather with friends, and rocking chairs on porches.
There’s bocce ball, pickle ball, shuffleboard and plenty of play areas for pets.

It also offers weekly and monthly rates, or did when we stayed–but be sure to check the website or call to find out about current rates. If you are planning a group event, find out about group rates, as well!

While we enjoy staying in the woods as often as possible, when we need to be closer to town, this is a great option, too!
