Carroll’s Sausage & Georgia Peanut RV Park

If you/ve traveled I-75 in or out of Florida, chances are you’ve at least passed by here, if not stopped in. Located in Ashburn, GA, it is easy to access and park a large rig, which we love, and has lots of food items to offer. It is a true meat market, so you can grab snacks or stock your fridge and freezer for your camping trip. They’ve also got lots of other grocery or quick grab items to purchase. With rocking chairs on their covered porch, you can sit a spell and rest before travelling on.

The other thing we love here is the option to overnight. Carroll’s Sausage is a Harvest Hosts member, and it is easy to spend the $30 in their shop. But it also has the Georgia Peanut RV Park on the other side of the building at $45 a night. While it’s a basic campground, it is easy to access, has full hookups and a dumpster, is right next to the store, close to shops and restaurants, and lots of room to walk around if you need to stretch your legs after a long day. The giant Peanut statue also has a geocache, if you are also a hunter!

We met a few families that were there for the weekend and camping with friends and family.

Their rates are reasonable and we had no issues with getting a reservation. The travel day we were headed for them, we had a tire issue and they were super helpful when we called and weren’t sure if we’d even make it, allowing us to get a refund, then allowed us late check in when we could and just square up the next day. Their hospitality was truly what the South epitomizes, and we were very grateful after a stressful day.

This stop is only a couple hours out of Atlanta, so a great stop before or after on I-75, especially with the option for hookups if it is too hot to boondock for an overnight stop.
