Big Sky Area? Capturing the night sky.
This years adventures have taken us across the US from Florida to Washington state. I know we have some blogging to catch up with, and we are going to try to do better.
But this one is about the night time. Most of the time, when I want to do some night photography, it happens to be one of two things: overcast, or full moon.
Somehow every time we book a dark area location, it is a full moon, making it very difficult to get any star photos on that trip.
This last month however, we managed to be in the middle of nowhere, close to a new moon, with no light pollution, and a few days of NO CLOUDS!
Here are the photos I captured in north west Wyoming.
Everything was taken on a D300 with a 12-24 nikkor lens, wide open and 30sec exposure. Some light painting with a flashlight.
In the comments, let me know what photo you like the best.
