After reaching southern California, and the month of November, it was time to start our journey back to the east.
First stop: Arizona! With more mountains to cross, we were graced with desert views and so much more.

We toured an aircraft carrier then grabbed a bite at the bar where one of the Top Gun movie scenes were filmed.

Driving towards the area known well by Navy SEALS, I’m reminded of their quote “the only easy day was yesterday” and realize it is so true in RV life, too!
We learned a lot from these hiccups, finally get some things caught up, and planning for the next step in the journey.
Traveling from Sequoia to Palm Springs should have been an easy trip since it was mostly interstate.
Of course it wasn’t though! Join us for the crazy journey, including driving through Los Angeles, and arriving to our campground and we couldn’t get in! All in an effort to get a day at Joshua Tree NP.
After planning and waiting for good weather and smaller crowds, our travels overlapped with the government shutdown.
Without knowing if we’d be able to get in or what we’d be able to do, we set out for Yosemite National Park.
What was open? How were people behaving? Well…
The time has come for us to brave the steep switchback roads up to Yosemite…with our home in tow behind us!
Not only do we have the roads to brave, but we have no idea if exploring Yosemite National Park will be in option, or if the campground will live up to the hype!
Time to continue our journey south along the west coast! Today we are traveling into California, and passing Mount Shasta.

Things go wrong–it’s a part of life, right? So when our RV’s license plate disappeared on the other side of the country, we had to come up with some fast solutions.

Finding a place close to the National Park with full hookups and room for our large rig is a tall order.
But finding a place that checked all the boxes for a great price and with amazing proprietors made this spot one we will return to again.
