There is so much to see and do in the Black Hills area of South Dakota, so choosing a central location to start from, or to base out of for day trips is suggested. We found a great spot at Sturgis Downtown RV Park that worked for us while we explored!
With a month in Washington state, we spent more than a week in the Olympic Peninsula and still didn’t get to see and do all we wanted, but we found a great campground that worked as home base!
This campground inspires memories of summer camp as a kid, and being located on a river and with a cave and beautiful grounds to explore adds to the fun!
While staying at Sunshine Travel Resort, a Thousand Trails Encore park near Vero Beach, we found a great hiking trail to explore. Pelican Island is located on the barrier islands and was only a 20 minute drive away.
