Before setting off for our next adventures across the country, we took a couple weeks off to enjoy the slower pace of life in the Blue Ridge mountains.

The outing at Catawba Falls Trail near Black Mountain, NC, offered two hiking options: the moderate Ridge Trail and the shorter River Trail. The Ridge Trail featured scenic views and ample resting spots. The upper falls were enjoyed, despite cold waters, while Hurricane Helene’s damage impacted accessibility. Overall, a rewarding adventure.
