When visiting Missouri, most people head for the Gateway Arch, but on the west side of the state is a small town who’s claim to fame is being home to the Pony Express, and it’s worth a visit!
If South Dakota is in your travel plans, be sure to include a stop at The Corn Palace in Mitchell. It’s a free stop, and we even found a FREE spot to overnight in town!
There is so much to see and do in the Black Hills area of South Dakota, so choosing a central location to start from, or to base out of for day trips is suggested. We found a great spot at Sturgis Downtown RV Park that worked for us while we explored!
With a month in Washington state, we spent more than a week in the Olympic Peninsula and still didn’t get to see and do all we wanted, but we found a great campground that worked as home base!
We spent only a few days in Walla Walla visiting friends, but a repeat visit is planned, and having an RV park walkable to downtown wine shops and other sites, is a bonus!
We have used annual passes for years, but have found it to be a huge bonus for our family while traveling. Do you have annual passes?
If you are visiting the Evergreen State on your travels, you may want to put Leavenworth, WA on your list! This mountain town is Bavarian themed, and has a Thousand Trails campground nestled in the Cascade Mountains, feeling like you are in the Black Forest of Bavaria, Germany!
If you are looking for a campground inside of Yellowstone National Park, Mammoth Campground in North Yellowstone should be on your list!
If you plan to be in the Cody, Wyoming area, or Yellowstone National Park, Buffalo Bill State Park has 2 great campgrounds to choose from that are big rig, family and budget friendly!
